Haley Martinez, MS, LPC A
About Me.
Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) in Texas. I graduated from the
University of North Texas with an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During my time at
UNT, I worked with individual clients across the lifespan, and I specialized in working with
children aged 3-10 doing play therapy.
The majority of my experience has been spent working in a community mental health setting
supporting adults, adolescents, children, and parents who have experienced trauma. I have also
worked with clients within local elementary schools and university training clinics.
My approach to therapy is guided by person-centered theory, an evidence-based therapy
focused on the client’s autonomy and the relationship built within the counseling room. I believe
in your personal ability to grow and heal. This means that as your (or your child’s) counselor, I
will be supporting you through the process of identifying goals and working towards them in a
way that fits for you and your life.
In my play therapy work with kiddos, this looks like me providing a warm, accepting environment
for your child to express themselves, practice self-regulation, and process life stresses through
their play, similar to the way adults do through talking with the counselor.
Please feel free to reach out to me or our office with any questions or to set up an initial
consultation appointment!
